Challenges

Despite serving 10,000 customers, 11,000 unique users, and handling approximately 50,000 orders, the client faced limitations in scaling their operations from 50,000 orders per day to 130,000 orders per day due to reliance on an on-premises, server-based shipping application. The existing legacy systems, including a desktop application in Delphi and a proprietary web application, posed hindrances to scalability and feature enhancements. Furthermore, fragmented operations required multiple user interfaces for different customer segments, leading to increased maintenance overhead. Cumbersome upgrades, involving physical distribution of compact discs and on-site engineer intervention, added to the operational challenges.
